This is current issue watch (factory fresh!), USAF and USN, Tritium Tracer (H3 Glass Tubes) Navigational Wristwatch that glows
20 times brighter than an ordinary luminous watch.
This type of watch is current government issue to flight personnel in all services and NASA, elite military, special operations and law enforcement units such as FBI and United States Marshals Service.  This one keeps great time and operates flawlessly.  The Tritium H3 illumination is fresh and very bright!  This features the clean
"Sterile" dial
with just "U.S. Government" name on it (see below).
Subsequent contract watches manufactured will no longer have the Sterile dial with US Government so this will become uncommon in the future.
The timepiece features a high-quality
Swiss made
high precision jeweled ETA quartz movement designed to withstand high G-forces.  The watch is for aviation therefore only designed for occasional light water exposure but not continuous water immersion as a diving rated one is.  This watch is designed for maintaining accuracy at high altitude to 35,000 FT without compensating pressurization. This is the authentic 1st quality military item and not the commercial, military style "Navy Seals" watch available to the general public marketed by Luminox nor the watches manufactured by MB-Microtec.
This watch is powered by a standard 395 watch battery, and is accurate to +/- 21 seconds per month (mine is actually right on after many weeks!). By pulling the crown out, the second hand is stopped (hacked) for synchronization. 12 O'clock illuminated in

This is a great looking timepiece that is actual military issue and has met rigorous military specifications.
It is not a factory second or government rejected watch....and you can buy it now for a great price!
The watch measures 44x48mm (not including the crown) with a 20mm lug width (strap size).  It is supplied in the US Government packaging.
The case is made of an extremely durable black nylon/fiberglass composite material.  The rotating outer bezel provides marking for a second-time zone.  The crystal is an aircraft quality lightweight Lexan material allowing for strength and scratch removal. The dial features the radioactive symbol (Tritium isotope). Tritium is a radioactive isotope of hydrogen. When it decays, it emits beta particles (electrons) that do not penetrate the skin, plastic, glass, etc. The electrons excite the coating on the vials, creating a bright green glow. It is a safe (but very expensive) method of illumination, and is used mainly in military watches and gun sights.

This is the famous new Type G model with the "sterile dial" that started being issued in the second half of 2003 through 2018. Earlier versions (like the Type F) had "Marathon" printed on the dial. This new version has an unmarked dial at the Government's request possibly for discretion reasons. These watches were found to be slightly more legible (less cluttered) in actual tactical/combat situations. The manufacturer's name will once again be printed on the dial later this year so this model will become scarce... if you like the look, get one now. Email me for additional images.
