    Description

    Here we have
    a very rare early 20th-century,
WWI-era printed, cut-and-sew cloth American naval "sailor boy" doll. We are not experts in dolls by any means, but here's what we can tell you about this doll with certainty: it came to us from the estate of a collector of antique dolls. The photos show the condition perfectly, so please enlarge and zoom in on them to view the detailing for yourself. The head is attached by maybe two stitches on one side (and a piece of Scotch tape in the back, lol!) The tear appears clean and straight. The stuffing is almost certainly original as it is "age-appropriate." The litho print is excellent for its age, nice dark tones of blue and the facial features stand out very well and are really quite beautiful. The fabric is soft and pliable, and we see no rot. Remarkably fresh and quite clean for a 100 year old-plus cloth doll. Absolutely free of all funky smells, including smoke. There are no makers marks or tags, and we were unable to find another like it anywhere on the Internet.
It is definitely from the same maker and series as the doughboy doll we have available in a separate listing.
If you have any information on this doll that you'd like to share, we'd love to hear it, and add it to the listing for others. We will be listing other very-very rare cloth dolls from this estate all week long, and we're always happy to combine shipping at actual cost.
We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report. Corndogcache is a 100% non-smoking environment, and we'll let you know if any of our vintage items smell like it (
    or anything else
) from activities they may have been involved in before they came to us.
    We're happy to
combine shipping at actual cost on all pieces
    purchased and paid for
    on one single invoice/order.
In order to take advantage of this shipping cost savings, you must, must, must combine all of your pieces into one order and pay for all of them at once.
The easiest way to do this is to place items in your cart, and then to purchase them as a group from your cart.
If you're unable to get the Ebay checkout to combine your items into one order, do not pay. Back out of that mess and shoot us a message instead, asking for a combined invoice, and then wait to pay from that.
    The Fine Print:
We expect payment within 1 day of purchase. If you're waiting for other auctions to end so that you can combine shipping, shoot us a message to let us know.
If you're unable to pay within terms, please reach out with your Plan B. Things happen. Especially these days. So just shoot us a message.
We don't accept buyer-remorse returns but we will grant you the use of our description and photos so that you can re-ebay the item yourself.
Although we don't accept buyer-remorse returns, reach out if you're unhappy with your purchase! If we messed up -- everybody does -- give us a chance to fix it. We promise it was unintentional, and we'll do what we can to make it right.
