Large size, Yvonne Spaggiari, Italian, RAVCA type, antique cloth, Grandma doll

Description

This delightful,
18" tall
, antique stockinette cloth, doll figure of an elderly Italian woman was designed by
Italian artist, Yvonne Wendremaire Spaggiari
in the manner of Bernard Ravca, France,
circa 1927-35,
with the most realistic and detailed, hand painted and needle sculpted features and hands with stitched fingers. She has the loveliest, attentive blue eyes and sweet expression with wrinkled forehead, finely painted eyebrows, closed lips with highlights, rosy cheeks and molded ears. Her thick, blond wavy mohair wig is covered by her lovely printed cotton scarf with red hem. She wears a beautiful, long plaid wool skirt and brown cotton, long sleeved shirt and long blue striped apron with pocket over a colorfully printed petticoat, bloomers, brown knit stockings and large wooden clog type shoes. She also holds both her steel knitting needles and her green striped knitting project in both her lovely hands. She is in excellent clean condition with no tears or damages, no fading, rips or repairs (few tiny holes in brown shirt) and no odors as she is from a smoke free home  Other members of her extensive doll family in last photos are
