Charming, studio size cutie....
Outstanding, 35" tall, (one of the largest sizes recorded) antique,
BLACK
or dark brown velveteen cloth, exotic native islander, girl doll,
circa 1930s
, by Norah Wellings, England*, with huge,
brown glass
, flirty (side-glancing, not moving) eyes, lovely painted eyelashes, broad smiling mouth with teeth and a mischievous look,
applied pierced ears
with original,
b
e
a
d
e
d
dangle earrings. She has a
swivel head
with stitched on, thick black, curly hair wig, individually stitched fingers with separate thumbs and individually stitched toes. She wears her original, red velveteen dress with stylized, felt flower motifs, matching

d
necklace and

d
e
d
ankle bracelets. She adds real interest to any collection and has tab-type joints at her shoulders and hips so that she can sit in a chair or be posed in many ways (similar to a bed doll). She is soft stuffed with no holes or damages and she retains all her original charm. She has no repairs or odors and is from a smoke free home. Her Norah Wellings friends (also shown) are
not included and listed separately.
