You will be purchasing a Rare Set of Mother Tucker's
Restaurant Adult Night Club Chips. The set consists of 4
ceramic
chips as shown above (front and back).
HISTORY:
Mother Tucker's was a Restaurant/ Adult Night Club located on the White Horse Pike in Atco, New Jersey.
The owner/operator was Ed Forte who was Fabian's cousin and road manager. On a trip to Lake Tahoe in 1975, Ed saw and felt Harrah's and Harvey's brass core chips.
He liked them and had some made up by Reliable Mfg. Co. (the same company that made Harrah's, Harvey's and the Reno Ramada). He had them made to his exact specifications for Mother Tucker's. There are four basic colors, each color signifying a different day of the week - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Mother Tucker's was closed on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The chips were paid for at the door prior to entering the establishment. These
ceramic
chips were used to purchase food, drinks, gifts and of course, tipping the waitresses. A new re-buy of chips was enforced on a daily basis.
The waitresses wore a sash with the logo of the pirate woman across their left chest. Where the image of the pirate woman's lips were on the sash there was a small cut-out (opening) where the waitresses' left nipple would protrude.
Mother Tucker's was opened in 1976 and closed in 1977. Just prior to Atlantic City getting legalized gaming, it was thought that gaming would proliferated across the entire state of New Jersey and these small restaurant/night clubs would get a jump on this new gambling but this did not happen.
The original core chips had 4 brass pips on one side and on the other side there are 4 sets of women's breasts. Interesting......maybe this place was the precursor of todays Hooters since Hooters came into existence in Clearwater, Florida in 1983.

chips. These 39mm special ceramic composition collectible chips are made exactly of the same materials and size as casino chips found around the world. Each chip measures 1 9/16" diameter, .130 thickness and is 10 grams in weight.
