    Description

    This is a beautiful antique original, all handmade and sewn, 8" tall Indian fabric doll. It's completely authentic and appears to have never been cleaned nor altered. Her face is all hand painted and fingers and ears are sewn with tightly wound, looped stitching. She was created Circa 1900, by way of the Christian Mission Society, or CMS (of Britain). The girl is adorned by brass and other metals and colored glass jewelry; having platted, black string hair tied back with a yellow and white ribbon. Fabrics are tan and orange cotton, green and yellow linen, metallic silver (trims), and pink satin, with a green translucent veil made of silk or voile. Earrings are dangle faux pearl drops in doubled brass hoops. Nose loop is sewn brass with tiny pastel glass beads. Bracelets are glass and metal. The veil has an age tear in back (photo 5), but fabric is not missing from there. Fabric shows a few light rust and age spots, and some tiny worm-holes. The doll is in great condition for its age, but is dusty and somewhat faded in exposed areas. Item
