RARE ALL CLOTH FELT
1920's STUNNING
DOLL.
I AM NOT SURE OF THE COMPANY WHO MADE HER BUT
SHE IS CLEARLY MADE AS A LENCI COMPETITOR .
Up For Auction Is This
Rare Antique 16" (46cm) Italian Felt All Cloth Doll
Made In The 1920's.
She Wears Her Original Handmade Felt Clothing.
She has a beautifully hand painted face
and she wears a blonde human hair wig.
She was clearly made as a Lenci competitor.
If anyone knows who her maker might be
I would love to hear from you.
Her Felt body is jointed at the shoulders & hips with a disc
for posing and sitting.
Her face looks a little like a Gre Poir but they were not all made of felt.
She has a zig zag stitch in the back of her head
(not as perfect as Lenci dolls but it is zig zag)
She has mitten hands and no ears.
She wears a mustard yellow felt dress that is trimmed in aqua green
and a matching hat and shoes.
She has a yellow organza shirt underneath the dress.
She wears a white romper undergarment and yellow socks.
Condition:
She has some condition issues but over all she is a lovely little doll.
She has a few moth holes which is a common thing
on wool felt dolls that are nearly 100 years old.
She is also kind of dirty maybe from being displayed.
She has no odor.
and her clothing is complete.
Her face paint is lovely.
She has rosy cheeks but her blue eye paint is fading in spots.
Other then the moth damage and a little faded paint
I did not see anything else.

THAT MANY COMPANIES WANTED TO SHARE IN THEIR SUCCESS &
THEY STARTED TO MAKE DOLLS THAT LOOK JUST LIKE LENCI DOLL.
